Andorra Business reaches an agreement with Global Esports Summit to show Andorra´s potential in eSports to Europe´s most important congress

Global Esports Summit and Andorra Business have signed an Institutional Partner agreement for the GES 21, Europe´s largest eSports congress, which will take place on the 27th and 28th of October this year, at Kinépolis in Madrid.

The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise for Andorra and president of Andorra Business, Jordi Gallardo; the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Galabert; and the general director of Global Esports Summit, Antonio Lacasa; signed the agreement during an act that took place in the Government building at Prat del Rull. Through this formalization, both entities pledge to focus on promotional objectives for the eSports sector in Andorra, in line with the definition of the Strategic Plan, presented recently by the Government and Andorra Business, and developed by the company Auren Spain.

The framework of this collaboration encompasses different joint and participative actions in terms of communication and connection with agents of the ecosystem, and serves as a basis and guiding thread for more specific, subsequent actions.

Jordi Gallardo pointed out that “electronic sports is one of the strategic sectors that the Andorran Government is working on to create a pole of development for this industry in order to bring new sources of value to the Andorran economy. Along with the activities and strategic lines, stated in the electronic sports strategic plan developed by Andorra, we can make strategic alliances with international partners of the magnitude of the Global Esports Summit and allowing to position the country beyond its immediate vicinity, as well as generating synergies to develop proposals linked to eSports in the Principality “.

Lastly, Antonio Lacasa declared that “the Andorran Government has positioned itself as a strong European leader in the eSports industry. This partnership with the Global Esports Summit is clear proof of the mutual interest for the growth of the sector in fields such as entertainment, formation and social and business environments. GES enthusiastically supports this firm intent and will offer Andorra´s highest entity our visibility and connection platforms in the eSports business environment”.
