The third edition of Actua’s project, Tàndem, was presented on Thursday, October 4th, at the Innovation Space of Andorra. This year, students will have to face the innovation challenges posed by Andorra Telecom, Gamma Management and VallmedicVision.

Andorra Telecom’s challenge is to innovate its segment of prepaid mobile telephony; VallmedicVision wants to raise awareness among the Andorran population in order to avoid the abuse of digital screens to stop myopia; and Gamma Management wants to improve the relationship between this human resource company and its clients.

The Minister of Education, Eric Jover, presented the event, highlighting that “for the first time the University of Andorra will participate actively, not only as an observer but also as a jury” and said “representatives of the French education system will also be observers to maybe participate in the Tàndem project for the next edition”.

For his part, the leader of the Actua’s Education Cluster, Ferran Costa, emphasized the goal of the Tàndem project is “to promote the development of innovative projects of high impact and make Andorra a meeting place for innovation. Costa also added in parallel “we want to give more visibility to students’ talent and bring the needs of the companies closer to the capabilities of Vocational Training students.

The educational workshops will take place on 13th and 20th November, the accelerator on 3rd and 4th December, and the final presentation of challenges on December 11th.

A consolidated educational and business project

Tàndem is a project within the framework of the Strategic Plan for the Renovation and Improvement of the Andorran Educational System (PERMSEA) promoted by Actua and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Government of Andorra. It responds to the need to develop its own model that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of vocational training in the country. It consists of introducing learning spaces where companies and collaborating entities meet with the Aixovall Vocational Training Centre students to generate economic and social value. Tàndem is, in fact, an open innovation community where professionals, teachers and students interact to respond to real and significant challenges present in companies and in the Andorran society in general.

The main Tàndem’s goal is to involve the Andorran vocational training educational community with innovative projects that are developed in companies, promote the talent of students, increase the employment opportunities of young people, improve the transfer of value between vocational training centres and companies, and at the same time, increase the companies’ competitiveness.
