Citizens and visitors to Pas de la Casa can enjoy from this Thursday, June 28th, the free Andorra Wifi network, which has been deployed in carrer Major, carrer Sant Jordi, avinguda del Consell General and Plaça Coprínceps.

The Minister of Territorial Planning and president of Andorra Telecom, Jordi Torres Falcó, the cònsol general of Encamp, Jordi Torres Arauz, and Andorra Telecom’s general manager, Jordi Nadal, inaugurated the Wifi network. The event took place on the eve of the Festa Major del Pas de la Casa, which begins this Friday.

This free network aims at providing guaranteed connectivity of tourists in the main commercial avenues and in the areas with the highest concentration of tourists in the parishes.

The Wifi network in Pas de la Casa in Andorra completes the deployment of this infrastructure that covers a total of 40 areas, including streets, squares and facilities, distributed throughout the territory. The network started in 2014 covering the commercial areas of Meritxell and Carlemany Avenues and has been progressively extended.

It is also extended for special sporting and cultural events of great importance.

In the year’s first quarter, a total of 99,577 people has connected. 91% of the users are tourists while the remaining 9% are from the country.
