A delegation from the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI) visited the Andorran Innovation Space on June 6th, showing interest in the Andorran projects being developed. The director of Actua Innovació, Marc Pons, hosted the visit.

The Uruguayan delegation could exchange experiences and explore ways of cooperation within the framework of the Ibero-American Program to strengthen South-South Cooperation. They were also informed about Andorran policies in the area of International Cooperation for Development policies. At the same time, they explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as the environment and sustainability, education and innovation.

Collaboration among countries of the southern hemisphere, called South-South Cooperation, or including a northern partner, called Triangular Cooperation, has been a growing modality of cooperation in recent years. For example, Agenda 2030 – an action plan that has the will to ensure social and economic progress around the world and strengthen universal peace – recognizes the importance it has in the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Within the framework of the Pro Tempore Secretariat of Andorra for the Ibero-American Conference, and with the desire to align international cooperation actions to the Sustainable Development Objectives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has incorporated South-South and Triangular Cooperation among its international cooperation modalities.
