The Council of Ministers approved on Wednesday, April, 11th, the call for the 2018 Engega programme, with a budget of 850,000 euros for the promotion of electric mobility and for the improvement of energy efficiency and the safety of the national vehicle fleet. The call for applications is open from the day after BOPA’s publication, to November 15th, or when the financial allocation is exhausted.

In this third Engega’s edition, the aid for the purchase of pure electric vans is increased to 10,000 euros, to which must be added the 1,000 euros granted by the dealership.

In addition, to encourage the renewal of vans, the aid for scrapping these vehicles has also been increased from 750 to 1,250 euros. As for the rest of the electric mobility vehicles, the 2018 Engega programme maintains the parameters established in the previous edition to promote pure electric vehicles over plug-in hybrids.

The aid for the purchase of a new pure or extended-range electric vehicle will be 8,000 euros for cars, 10,000 euros for vans and 2,000 euros for motorcycles. The aid granted under the programme shall not exceed 50% the vehicle purchased value.

The opening of this Engega’s third edition is part of the Government’s desire to promote sustainable mobility, and the positive results that have already been seen with the registration of more than 340 electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles between 2016 and 2017.
