The electronic certificate is becoming increasingly useful as a single online identification system for multiple platforms. The Government’s Secretary General, Jordi Casadevall, FEDA’s director of Information Technology, Daniel Fernandez, and Andorra Telecom’s spokesperson, Carles Casadevall, presented on Thursday, April 26th, this new certificate that can now be used to authenticate one’s identity on the two companies’ websites.

Jordi Casadevall, said the electronic certificate is an instrument that allows identification on multiple platforms and signing documents electronically, with full security.

This certificate avoids different user names and passwords for each platform. In turn, its level of security makes it as officially valid as a handwritten signature.

The Government’s Secretary General stated it is now possible to access the Government’s tax area to manage, for example, the declaration of Tax revenues. In addition, procedures such as the deposit of accounts or the household certificate can be made, as well.

FEDA’s director of Information Technology, Daniel Fernandez, mentioned the electronic certificate allows access as a user on FEDA’s website, and invoices will be sent by e-mail and signed with electronic certificate. Likewise, suppliers will also receive orders signed with this tool.

Andorra Telecom’s spokesperson, Carles Casadevall, assured they also wanted to join the project and highlighted the simple mechanism that has been used. Thus, it is possible, with the electronic certificate, to access client’s area and manage mobile phone or television offers. In addition, the electronic certificate can be used to check account balance and invoices at any time.

In addition, comuns (i.e Comú de Canillo) have already started to work towards the integration of the electronic certificate. Crèdit Andorrà has been the pioneering private company in this field.

The Government announced electronic certificates would be free of charge during 2018, with a validity of three years. Jordi Casadevall said it is the will of the public administration to promote its use, and encouraged citizens to apply for this tool at Tràmits, (Govern or comuns)
