The Andorran Association of Electronic Sports is now a reality

The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise, and president of Actua, Jordi Gallardo, the mayor of La Massana, Olga Molné, and the president of the Andorran Association of Electronic Sports (AAEE), Sergi Segado, presented on Tuesday December 29th, in La Massana the entity born with the aim of positioning companies, teams and players with a will to cooperate and wanting to develop the sector from Andorra.

Gallardo highlighted that “we firmly believe that our country´s economic diversification involves promoting technologically based sectors with a high added value, with international projection and which benefit from the competitive advantages that we already have at our disposal like great internet connectivity, an attractive tax framework, flexibility and being receptive to promoting proposals from the private sector in favor of generating economic activity. We are convinced that we have a great opportunity in electronic sports and that we must not let it pass us by”.

In this sense he explained that a strategic plan for electronic sports in the country is being worked on so as to offer a valuable proposal to the industry and that local talents and companies as well as international actors may find in Andorra a favorable space to carry out their activities and help grow the country.

Electronic sports offer a variety of business facets such as organizing competitions, generating content, creating apps, forming or establishing teams, and the aim is for “them to do this in Andorra and from Andorra”. The existence of the association allows for the coordination of all of these so as to position the country as a reference in the global scene of this sector.
