ACTUA organized a workshop on Friday with young entrepreneurs, investors and the U.S. Embassy, on the occasion of the U.S. Ambassador to Andorra, James Costos’ visit to Andorra. In his remarks, Amb. Costos explained the various initiatives being carried out by the Embassy of the United States to foster entrepreneurship. As an example, he mentioned the Embassy´s IN3 program (www.in3spain.com), an event series that connects the most influential tech entrepreneurs from the U.S. and Spain together with investors and institutions, organized in partnership with the Chamberi Valley Association.
“When the government and private sector collaborate in meetings such as these, it helps spark innovation and economic growth,” he said. Amb. Costos also encouraged Andorran youth to participate in and organize events for the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 14-20.
Later, the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification, Josep Maria Missé, explained the efforts undertaken by ACTUA to encourage foreign investment and entrepreneurship. Missé also referred to the design of the program of incentives for start-up companies, aimed at facilitating its implementation in Andorra. He also pointed out other projects already in effect, in the field of education and the innovation community network creation in professional education (FP Hubs). This project aims at promoting contacts between businessmen and FP students to encourage innovation and talent within companies.
As for young entrepreneurs and investors, they took advantage of the workshop to exchange experiences. In terms of innovation many issues were on the table such as the benefits of investing and residing in the country, advice on how to start an entrepreneurial project, the main success stories and incentives needed to attract entrepreneurship.
