Andorra remains at the forefront of electric mobility and further increases subsidies

On October 25th, the Council of Ministers approved, on a proposal from the Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation Minister, Gilbert Saboya, the opening of a second call for the Engega 2017 programme with an additional allocation of 150,000 euros. The measure was adopted as the sum of 850,000 euros, amount allocated in the first call for proposals, was awarded before the deadline set for November 15th.
This second call follows the same conditions as the previous one, in which 166 grants (130 passenger cars, 20 vans and 16 motorcycles) were given. Its goal is to promote pure electric vehicles, and continues to subsidise, although in a more reduced way, plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Engega was created in 2016 as a three-year programme to position Andorra as a leading country in electric mobility. In its first year, it has already reached the third place worldwide in terms of market share for sustainable mobility, with 4.83%.
