Actua presented on June 13th, a new laboratory of drones, at the Andorran Innovation Space. This Lab will count with the support of various entities such as the Firefighters, the Government’s Department of Transport, the Centre d’Estudis de la Neu i la Muntanya and the OBSA.
 
Actua Innovació’s director, Marc Pons, detailed this collaboration aims at providing technology in different sectors of the country and help Andorran companies that are already working in this field. Andorra wants to create an attractive legal framework at international level to attract those companies that are currently working with new applications.
 
Òscar Santos, head of the Firefighter’s Mountain Rescue Group and drone pilot, pointed out that drones can facilitate various emergency tasks such as fires in homes and forests and could be a valuable tool to help rescuing lost people, as it also includes thermographic sensors.
 
For his part, Guillem Santacreu, advisor to the Andorran Civil Aviation Authority, pointed out that Andorra’s drone regulations are very open at European level and can be very attractive for national and foreign companies.
