The first International Conference of Technological Companies for Retail in Andorra, organized by Actua and The Shopping Mile, was held this Wednesday at the Congress Center of Andorra la Vella, with the participation of 26 companies from Andorra, Spain and France. Around 200 professionals from the Retail sector also attended. Companies’ representatives presented innovative and tangible solutions for all kinds of shops and points of sale, the main international trends, as well as novelties and solutions for companies.

The Minister of the Presidency, Economy and Business, Jordi Gallardo, stressed that “one of the functions of the Administration is to provide tools to strategic sectors, such as commerce. The Government has been working on a series of projects for some time, so that companies in the country and in the commercial sector can be more competitive and review their strategy”. Gallardo highlighted for example the national database (Data Hub) and the agreement with VISA. He emphasized the importance for companies “to be in line with the new international trends in order to remain competitive”.

In fact, this was the topic addressed by the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Galabert, and the president of The Shopping Mile, Sònia Yebra, who also presented the main conclusions of the last World Retail Congress held in Amsterdam. The Actua Empresa’s director, Judit Hidalgo, recalled “the lack of knowledge and approximation to new technologies within the retail sector, this is why we decided to create this event”.

The Actua Innovació’s director, Marc Pons, presented the work being carried out at the Data Hub, (the national data platform), and the solutions it started to provide for the tourism and commerce sector in Andorra. Hereinafter, the renowned expert in neurolearning and neuromarketing, Ivo Güell, offered several tips and strategies to reach customers.

The day ended with dozens of business meetings attended by representatives of 26 companies from Andorra, Spain and France, and professionals from various sectors.
