The Minister of the Presidency, Economy, Enterprise and Housing, Conxita Marsol, together with the Secretary of State for Enterprise, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, the Director of Andorra Business (AB), Judit Hidalgo, and the Manager of Andorra Research and Innovation (AR+I), Marta Domènech, presented the National Plan for Innovation and Diversification on Monday to the country’s economic and social stakeholders.

After having been presented on October 10th before the General Council’s Legislative Committee on Economy, Monday’s session was addressed to representatives from strategic sectors considered essential for contributing to the Plan’s development — including the education, health, tourism, economic, and financial sectors — as well as clusters (Actinn and Andorra Sports Cluster), the local councils (comuns), and the Government. Another presentation is scheduled for this Thursday, also at the premises shared by AB and AR+I in Andorra la Vella, for the rest of the country’s stakeholders linked to research and innovation.

The National Plan for Innovation and Diversification commits the Government to progressively increasing public investment in this field — from 1.75% projected for 2026 to 7–8% of the national budget — in order to drive a new economic model based on innovation, research, and technology in highly specialized sectors considered strategic for the country’s economic diversification.

The Plan is based on the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategy 2021–2030, developed with the participation of more than 40 public and private stakeholders. As she did before the legislative committee, Minister Marsol recalled that “the worst thing we could do is stand still in a context of accelerated global transformation,” and emphasized that “Andorra can act more swiftly than other countries to consolidate itself as an ecosystem of technological and socio-economic innovation.”

The two informational sessions scheduled for this week aim to raise awareness of the Plan among the stakeholders considered strategic, with the goal of ensuring that its implementation brings together as many participants as possible for a cross-cutting, nationwide project.
