What are the Andorra Business R&D&I Grants for Business Diversification?
These are grants aimed at companies and professionals carrying out research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects in Andorra, with the goal of contributing to the country’s economic diversification.
Andorra Business has allocated a total of €500,000 to fund projects during 2025, with special focus on those providing added value and strategic impact.
The application period for the 2025 edition is open until December 10 or until the allocated budget is exhausted.
Who can apply for these grants?
Companies or individuals established in Andorra
Companies or professionals from outside Andorra with R&D&I projects, who commit to establishing themselves in the country within six months
Priority will be given to projects in strategic and innovative sectors with potential for transformation and talent generation.
What expenses can be subsidized?
The grants cover costs directly related to research, development, and innovation activities, including:
Labor costs
Technical or research staff involved in the project.
Machinery and equipment
Production tools, laboratories, or technology required to develop new solutions.
Intangible assets
Software, patents, or licenses related to the project.
Consumable materials
Items used during the R&D&I phase
Infrastructure
Specific spaces or facilities for carrying out innovative activities.
Other expenses directly linked to the project.
All expenses must be properly justified, detailed in the budget, and clearly aligned with the project’s objectives.
Evaluation criteria
Projects will be assessed based on several qualitative and strategic criteria, with special emphasis on their impact on the country and sector.
Impact on Andorra and the sector
Initiatives in strategic sectors with multiplier potential will be prioritized.
Objectives and innovation
The relevance, novelty, and differentiation from the company’s current activity, and thus the impact on the company, will be evaluated.
Technical and economic feasibility
Coherence of the work plan, methodology, and the promoter’s capability.
Quality and scale of the investment
Value-added employment generated, material resources, and induced investments.
Local collaboration
Projects involving cooperation with entities established in Andorra will be scored positively.
Projects will be evaluated with support from AR+I and other technical experts if needed, particularly regarding scientific and methodological aspects.
Application process
To apply for the grant, you must fill out the application form available through the link on this page.
Documents and information required with the form:
- A detailed technical report of the project.
- A detailed budget.
- Declaration of aid received in the past 3 years.
- Declaration of no outstanding debts with the administration.
- Annual accounts from the past 3 years.
The form must be signed with an official digital government signature or an equivalent one in the case of foreign companies (the process is specified in the form).
How are applications evaluated?
Applications will be reviewed in order of arrival by the Board of Directors of Andorra Business, with technical support from external experts as needed.
