The Secretary of State for Economic Diversification, Josep Maria Missé, the head of Actua’s economic diversification, Imma Jimenez and the health and technical projects assistant, Gemma Arribas, met last Tuesday with 30 students of the Erasmus Mundus European Master in Tourism Management (EMTM). It is an international master program in two years which is provided with the cooperation and participation of three universities in Denmark, Slovenia and Spain.

During the stay at the Universitat de Girona, the program director Dr. Jaume Guia and students were interested in the experience of the Actua initiative, the work being undertaken to diversify the Andorran economy and the experiences being developed with the three existing clusters today: education, innovation, health and wellness, all supported from tourism.

During the meeting, Missé discussed the possibilities Andorra may offer to investors, and the work that is being developed from the Actua initiative to attract foreign direct investment. Other issues discussed during the meeting served to detail how to generate new businesses from tourism. Students also expressed interest in various aspects of the Andorran economy like the high flow of imports and dependence on foreign energy.
