MoraBanc and Andorra Business have signed a collaboration agreement through which the banking entity will become the sponsor of the upcoming GES-X Andorra. The is the first e-sports event in Andorra within the national strategic plan to develop this sector in the country, create growth opportunities and is organized in conjunction with the Global Esports Summit (GES). The event will be held on the 26th of November at the Les Fontetes theater in La Massana.
Marta Riera, head of Business at MoraBanc highlighted that “e-sports are already a reality and can open to many opportunities. This is a good example of how Andorra is transforming and we are taking part because at MoraBanc we are committed to the people creating a new country and that will allow us to advance.”
Judit Hidalgo, director of Andorra Business valued the fact that “the entrance of renowned companies such as MoraBanc reaffirms the promoting of this strategic line related to electronic sports and all that it can bring to us as a country. Working hand in hand allows us to further potentiate this sector within the country´s process of economic diversification”.
The GES-X is the kick off, in event terms of the strategic plan positioning Andorra as a reference country in the world of electronic sports. The event will be divided in two parts. In the morning, experts from different fields will take part in roundtables and presentations. The presence of International entities such as Esports Bureau and Play the Game Agency is confirmed. Representatives from the Andorran association of Electronic Sports (AAEE) will also participate as well as other actors from the sector in Andorra.
The afternoon program includes a leisure part with demonstrations, live sessions by the Andorran Videogame League (ALV) and areas to try games and experience e-sports which will be free of charge.
