The Andorra Sports Innovation Summit, organized by per Andorra Business, Andorra Research + Innovation and the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC), with the support of SPSG Consulting, was at full capacity at the auditorium in Ordino for the event centered around experts in sport and innovation.
The conference, within the framework of the global agreement between GSIC and Andorra to position the country as an international reference in the industry of sport and innovation, hosted representatives from some of the sector´s international entities such as Microsoft, the International Ski Federation, the Vuelta, the Tour de France, mountain equipment companies, Ironman, along with local actors like Grandvalira, Vallnord-Pal Arinsal and Naturland.
In a mixt format of presentations and roundtables, the sector´s latest trends were discussed in front of an audience of over a hundred people, mostly professionals from the sector. Various local and international startups were also present, among which the three winners of the Andorra Sports Startup Challenge (Snow 51, Xeerpa and Moonbikes) who were presented with awards for the best projects.
During their visit to Andorra, many of the participants also took the opportunity to discover in person the Casa de la Muntanya located in the center of Ordino.
Renewal of the agreement with GSIC by Microsoft
At this morning´s conference, the Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise of the Andorran Government, Jordi Gallardo, signed along with the general director of Sports Industry from Microsoft, Sebastián Lancestremère, the contract renewal for another year with GSIC by Microsoft to continue working on internationally positioning Andorra as a point of reference in the ecosystems for startups, innovation and digital transformation in winter sports, mountains and cycling.
The agreement includes the implanting of an online and in person activities program for both Andorran and foreign startups and companies who want to bring their innovations to the Principality.
