The Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation Minister, Gilbert Saboya, closed the 18th edition of the Taller d’emprenedors on Thursday, June 28th. This year, 20 entrepreneurs participated and 14 completed the training session with a satisfactory business plan.

Gilbert Saboya and the dean of the UDA, Miquel Nicolau, presented the diplomas to the 14 new entrepreneurs, including the 3 awards for the best business projects. The first prize of 2,000 euros was for a project related to socio-health services, the second prize was for a project to create a park for dogs, and the third prize was shared between a floral decoration project and a vehicle signaling project.

The Taller d’emprenedors is a program from the Government of Andorra, in place since 1999, with the collaboration of the University of Andorra (UDA) and professionals from the private sector. The aim is to promote the capacity to create new companies in the country or to lead business projects in existing companies. In his speech, Gilbert Saboya stressed Andorra is competitive thanks to its business network as a whole, and for its entrepreneurs. The Minister also recalled the creation by the Government of the “Punt d’empresa” project with the aim of being a space to accompany entrepreneurs, thus bringing the Administration closer to companies and businessmen.

The Taller d’emprenedors is free of charge for participants and is addressed to applicants over 18 years of age, with an entrepreneurial spirit and who want to create a business. Entrepreneurs can present any type of business projects. During the 5 months of the Taller (from January to June), each entrepreneur works on his business plan. The training is structured into 20 sessions at the University of Andorra. Entrepreneurs receive a tutorial service to monitor the progress of each project. The training includes areas as diverse as marketing, production, human resources, economics and finance, legislation, etc., so that everyone can personally develop their business plan.

In the past 18 editions, over 260 entrepreneurs have successfully drawn up their business plans, and 90 entrepreneurs have ended up creating their own companies.
