The NIU incubator and business accelerator was presented on Monday 21 November, founded with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship in the field of technology and to encourage the development of new activities that contribute to the country’s economic diversification.
Located at the Arcs building in la Massana, with Andorra Telecom’s support, Actua collaborators and mentors, this space wants to be a unique ecosystem in order to generate synergies to promoting new businesses.
The NIU facilities include a total of 18 work spaces, three meeting rooms and common areas. In total, this project’s promoters are expecting eight companies made up with two or three employees each to work together.

The selection of companies will be made through a public tender, and criteria can be consulted on the NIU website: www.niu.ad. It is an open tender organized by the selection committee until all places are covered, in order of arrival and acceptance of the proposals.
Once entrepreneurs are installed at the NIU, the projects are divided into a first incubation phase for its conception, with the aim of creating the company, and a second acceleration phase trying to raise funds with a first round of investors.
The next step would be the beginning of the products or services market launch leading to the second round of investment and further exit from the NIU, when the company is fully operational.  In total, the whole process is expected to be completed in a period of 10 months.
