The Government has reviewed the impact of foreign investment law. In the first quarter of 2014, initial investment applications were up to 17.5 million euros. With this figure the total volume of foreign investment stood at 63 million euros from the entry into force of the law, in June 2012.
Other results in the first quarter are the creation or acquisition of 83 companies and 43 business openings.

Since the approval of the foreign investment law, 237 businesses were created, 189 of which are new businesses and 48 acquisitions. Also 209 initial jobs were created, just upon the constitution of companies.

Spokesman Minister Jordi Cinca said at a press conference the Actua initiative will be publishing quarterly data of foreign investment, as well as its impact on the Andorran economy and the support provided by the initiative. These files will include qualitative information on the support programme degree of satisfaction from investors.

In total, since the opening to foreign capital, the Actua Initiative gave support to 63 companies already established in Andorra. Investors value positively the Actua support with a score of 3.3 on a scale from 1 to 4. Surveys show much higher figures of success in cases in which the company has received support from Actua. Figures not only take into consideration a larger volume of investment, but also a higher percentage of employers having established a shop (63%). The figure drops to 28% without the Actua engagement.

The documents also highlight observations expressed by businessmen. They’d like to see the establishment of a single point of contact with the Administration. In this regard, Actua is about to open a public attention office on the main Administration Building ground floor. Other demands include Administration application forms to be submitted in English, double tax agreements with Germany and the United Kingdom or improving communication structures.
