The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gilbert Saboya, travelled for an official visit to Chile in response to the invitation made by his Chilean counterpart, Alfredo Moreno during the Latin-American Summit held in Panama in November. This is the first visit of a Minister from the Principality to this South American country.
During the meeting, the Ministers agreed to boost the good bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the areas of tourism and business.

In this regard, the Minister Saboya had the opportunity to speak with the presidents of the National Chamber of Commerce of Chile and the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, Richard Mewes and Peter Hill (see photo), respectively, and the national director National Service of Tourism (Sernatur), Javier Vergara.

The meeting between the two Ministers, together with the Deputy Director of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Rodrigo Araya, has been followed by an official working lunch with the attendance of several diplomatic representatives accredited in that country as well as representatives from tourism and business.
