2016 ended with 8,534 active businesses registered to the Business Registry, a + 5.6% in comparison with the same date of 2015, according to figures released by the Department of Statistics. The positive trend over the past four years is confirmed.
 
This increase is the result of the positive net creation of businesses results during 2016, accounting for 879 new registrations per 427 closures, a difference of 452 representing a growth of 9.2% over the previous year.
 
The sectors that contributed most to the businesses increase were the “real estate and rental activities; business services “(+ 14.9%, +246 businesses) and the” trade and auto repair shops “(+ 2.6% +73 businesses).
 
Business increasing is a new indicator of the economic recovery’s consolidation in Andorra in recent months.
