Andorran students, teachers, researchers and other entities will be able to enjoy free training internships at the Universidad del Pacífico (UP) in Lima, one of the most prestigious private centres in Peru. The Presidency, Economy and Business Minister, and President of Actua, Jordi Gallardo, signed an agreement with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the UP, Michelle Rodríguez. Gallardo emphasized “the aim is to promote international mobility and to strengthen collaborations in Latin America. This is an educational exchange where Andorrans can participate in projects developed by this prestigious university, from which several ministers have emerged. In turn, Peruvians will collaborate in projects developed by Actua Innovació”. In fact, six students from the UP have already been collaborating with Actua for the last three years.

Michelle Rodríguez stated “we have experienced the kindness of the Andorran people and we are indebted to them. We are a very connected university, as we receive more than 150 students from all over the world, and now it is our turn to receive Andorran students. We also want them to know our culture and traditions. I also think that Peru is a good place to promote projects originating in Andorra.

The agreement allows every year a student, teacher or researcher from the country to study, between three and five months, at the Universidad del Pacífico, with travel expenses, medical insurance, accommodation and food covered. The agreement between UP and Actua Innovació is valid for three years.

Minister Gallardo was also invited to participate in a round table with students from the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad del Pacífico where, together with the General Director of Innovation, Technology and Digitalization of the Ministry of Production of Peru, Pamela Antonioli, they presented the innovation ecosystems of Andorra and Peru.
