INDESCAT, the sport´s industry cluster in Catalunya, and theAndorra Sports Cluster (AEC), signed on Monday March 1st at midday a collaboration agreement with the aim of developing competitivity in both entities and their members in the fields of innovation, internationalization, visibility and in networking, among others.

The president of INDESCAT, Anna Pruna, and the president of the AEC, David Hidalgo, signed the collaboration agreement with the goal of sharing knowledge and experience, develop common projects and participate reciprocally in initiatives and activities related to the improvement of the sport´s industry´s competitivity in various axes: innovation, internationalization, digitalization, talent, entrepreneurship, visibility and networking in sport and physical activity.

According to this agreement, which impulses the internationalization of the two entities, both the AEC and INDESCAT will be able to participate in activities, programs, actions and workshops organized by each cluster. The fields in which more synergies are likely to be developed are the ones of sports tourism, sporting events, outdoor sports and mountain sports, as well as the promotion of sport and healthy habits.

Both entities have also engaged in evaluating the possibility of jointly generating studies, reports and projects of interest; simultaneously previewing analysis, design, production and execution of workshops, events, sessions and formation centered around the sports industry in Catalunya and Andorra. Assistance from different administrations will also be sought –both local and international in the elaboration of joint projects, exchange of commerce and knowledge will be promoted among the members of the participating clusters.

The president of INDESCAT, Anna Pruna, valued this “strategic alliance” as extremely positive, given that “Catalunya and Andorra have many points in common in certain segments of the sports industry, we are very close to each other and joining efforts and visions will help us grow and generate new opportunities for both clusters as well as for the members of each”. For Pruna, the signing of this agreement demonstrates that “despite the difficulties we are facing due to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the clusters´ work goes on and we continue looking for opportunities to boost and generate competitivity within the sector´s companies”.

Furthermore, David Hidalgo, president of the Andorra Sports Cluster, stated that “collaboration with a consolidated cluster such as INDESCAT will definitely aid in our growth and help establish contacts with the many companies and entities connected to sports in Catalunya with regards to future projects that will add competitivity and innovation to the Andorran sports sector”.
